Does your database look complicated? Are you finding it difficult to interact with it? Database interaction is a part of the daily routine for all database professionals. Using Oracle Utilities the user can benefit from improved maintenance windows, optimized backups, faster data transfers, and more reliable security and in general can do more with the same time and resources.
You don’t have to reinvent the wheel, just learn how to properly use the Oracle Utilities to achieve your goals. This is what this Oracle Utilities book is about; it covers topics oriented towards data management, session management, batch processing, massive deployment, troubleshooting, and how to make the most out of the frequently used DBA tools to improve your daily work.
Data management is one of the most frequently required tasks; doing a backup is a must-do task for any company. Data management includes several tasks such as data transfers, data uploading and downloading, reorganizing data, and data cloning, among many others. If people learn to use a tool and things appear to go well, few will question if their approach is optimal. Often it is only when maintenance windows start shrinking, due to the amount of data and business availability, that problems with any particular approach get identified.
If people get used to the old export/import utilities to perform data management and if it works, they probably will consider the problem solved and will continue to use an obsolete tool. This book explores further possibilities and new tools. It makes the user question if his/her current environment is optimized and teaches how to adopt more optimized data management techniques focusing to the tools and the requirements most frequently seen in modern production environments.
Oracle 10g/11g Data and Database Management Utilities is a new book from Packt that helps Oracle professionals improve performance and manageability using the advanced features of Oracle Utilities. Written by Hector R. Madrid, a certified DBA and Java curriculum instructor for the Oracle University, this book helps users to master the utilities to optimize the efficiency, management, and performance of their daily database tasks.
Database interaction is a part of the daily routine for all database professionals, and by using Oracle Utility tools such as Oracle Data Pump and Oracle SQL*Loader, users can benefit from improved maintenance windows related to data management tasks, optimized backups, faster data transfers, and more reliable security, thereby allowing them to do more with the same amount of time and resources. Using the advanced features of direct export or import utilities, readers will learn to improve performance and manageability of different databases.
Readers will make use of the Oracle Scheduler to specify maintenance windows, assign priorities, configure job classes and many more features. With the help of the Oracle Universal Installer tool, the installation tasks becomes more efficient, and allows users to execute effective default and comprehensive database creations.
Readers will also learn about the Oracle Wallet Manager and how it is used to increase the security in an Oracle environment, protect the backups, and manage its certificates. Using OPatch, users will be able to manage software updates related to Critical Patch Updates (CPU) or individual patches and perform installations in batch environments. They will also learn to use DBCA to create and configure a database and manage it in an ASM environment.

Nothing they state in this is implausible. Look at the moon and the effect it has on the oceans. The rising of the tide is caused by the gravitational pull of the moon, so wouldn’t it be logical to believe a large planet passing by on an elliptical orbit would magnify this effect much more? I believe it was the “how the earth was made” series that highlighted a theory that our moon was a result of our planet and another colliding causing a large debris field that formed into our moon.

I have been watching and listening to this topic since the 80’s. I remember when 13 NASA scientist walked off thier jobs due to the find in our space. This is our history and we are going to be part of it again rather we like it or not. Thank you for the videos. They are informative and well done.

I agree. I mean, I just don’t buy anyone who a) bites off another persons name and b) has only had an account for a few days… c) spewing statements as you’ve mentioned like that about others being shills, does have to make one wonder. I’m familiar with HB 1955 personally and I know that they intend (prob. have) set up a new group to crack down on “homegrown terrorism”. They intend to target anyone who still believes in the Dec. of Ind. from their loosely defined terms. Just my opinion.
