Oprah’s Book Club is a great place for those who love reading new books to share the excitement with other readers. Oprah chooses a particular book for her club to read by a particular time, then all the members are able to go online and discuss their thoughts about the book and post reviews for others to see. Oprah has taken this project to heart, often choosing books by unknown authors and with controversial topics.
The Oprah Book Club has become very successful since it began in 1996. It has become the biggest book club in the world. In addition to having a wonderful place to discuss the selected books, all members of the club receive a 10% discount on the books they purchase. In the beginning, Oprah selected a book each month to feature. Beginning in 2002, she recommends books only when they pull at her heart. This may be several in a month or months where she has no featured books. Here website offers an archive of past books she has selected.
Millions of reader’s follow the lead of Oprah. It seems any book she recommends in her book club becomes an immediate best seller. This has turned unknown authors into household names over night. Some book publishers are uncomfortable with this process as they feel the public is choosing Oprah’s recommendation over any of their traditional advertising methods.
While this has lead so publishing companies to try and pay Oprah to choose their books, she has remained loyal to her book club members, only choosing books that are of interest and most pull at the heart strings of the readers. Oprah has a common theme of human trials and tribulations in the books she chooses.
For those who enjoy reading quality books at a great price, Oprah’s Book Club may be the perfect place for you. It is always challenging to be asked to read a book that you normally wouldn’t have picked up. Many individuals who participate in the books selected by Oprah for the members to discuss claim they are wonderful books that they wouldn’t have chosen on their own, yet many are the best stories they have ever read. This is a great way to expand your reading style and knowledge.

V.C. Andrews is another really good author (another old one – "Flowers in the Attic" series)

I don't know this author, but I get my new books info from Amazon.com by punching in the authors name and it usually shows any that are coming out soon. I also get information from http://fantasticfiction.co.uk/, they have a lot of authors on there and have the books in order and dated for new ones coming out. Good website.

I have been watching and listening to this topic since the 80’s. I remember when 13 NASA scientist walked off thier jobs due to the find in our space. This is our history and we are going to be part of it again rather we like it or not. Thank you for the videos. They are informative and well done.

I agree. I mean, I just don’t buy anyone who a) bites off another persons name and b) has only had an account for a few days… c) spewing statements as you’ve mentioned like that about others being shills, does have to make one wonder. I’m familiar with HB 1955 personally and I know that they intend (prob. have) set up a new group to crack down on “homegrown terrorism”. They intend to target anyone who still believes in the Dec. of Ind. from their loosely defined terms. Just my opinion.

Nothing they state in this is implausible. Look at the moon and the effect it has on the oceans. The rising of the tide is caused by the gravitational pull of the moon, so wouldn’t it be logical to believe a large planet passing by on an elliptical orbit would magnify this effect much more? I believe it was the “how the earth was made” series that highlighted a theory that our moon was a result of our planet and another colliding causing a large debris field that formed into our moon.

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen!! You have to read this.
Uglies (Uglies Trilogy, Book 1) by Scott Westerfeld
The Luxe by Anna Godbersen
The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory
Also, I plan on reading Atonement, and I've heard nothing but great reviews for it and the movie.
