Rosemary Edghill has written many works of fiction, mostly science fiction and fantasy. Her first novel was Turkish Delight. She has written many others.

George Alec Effinger wrote the Planet of the Apes series.

You'll find others at the last link.

“Agenda 21″ is the driving force behind this. When I find a person within our state or county government that is being administered by UNESCO, I simply email them “Agenda 21 for dummies.” So far two have resigned! All that we need do to stop this sick nonsense – is refuse to participate!!!!

Codex Alimentarius was intended to start in Dec 2009. Can anyone confirm the status of this? I can see why something that bad (as in evil) wouldn’t even make the last page, or very late night news. Anyone know?

The name of the book is “Fight for Your Health: Exposing the FDA’s Betrayal of America” by Byron J. Richards. Great book. I’ve read it. Some of the information is pretty unbelievable, but it’s all true.

CODEX and any UN product is suspect. krappa NYC jew capital of the world is home base for UN which wants to eliminate personal property rights and gun rights … basically the communist manifesto. If it prevails watch out.. millions murdered in Russia after 1918 at their hands.

To jsplane:

The safety law you mention has nothing to do with DSHEA. It is meant to combat food contamination such as salmonella and other bio and chemical toxins as well as foreign debris such as glass particles etc. Allergens in food are also covered. Your comment would have us believe that vitamins and minerals are not safe. The law is the law; let’s not confuse supplements with real safety issues; such as deadly chemicals in food. Recall how Chinese pet food killed 30,000 pets in the U.S.

Codex Alimentarius is dead in the U.S. Congress unanimously adopted the DSHEA law in 1994 after massive public outcry against Codex. In 2007 DSHEA co-sponsor Senator Orrin Hatch called the FDA on the carpet and read them the law on supplements and told the FDA restricting supplements would not be tolerated. End of story, at least here in America. Biochemists know far more about nutrition than doctors. FDA approved drugs kill 100,000 Americans every year; these administered by doctors.

Wow, My Side of the Mountain, by Jean Craighead George would be so perfect – It's one of my all time favourite books from childhood, has some great educational material but is so entertaining they won't even notice that they're actually learning.

It's about a boy (14 or so) who decides to leave home and live alone in the Catskills, surviving by hunting and gathering plants. He ends up living in a hollowed out tree, and has a pet Peregrine Falcon. It's fascinating and heartwarming (but not in that annoying Disney-esque way) and unforgettable.

@spacetimewarp
The new “food safety” legislation, one of which is sponsored by Lamar Alexander is meant to make DSHEA obsolete, and allow Codex to win the battle.

Codex Alimentarius is a big step forward to standarised food safety, still the differences eg. between the EU and the US will stay.
